Recipe: Ragi Semiya Upma (Sevige Bath)

Ingredients

  • 180g Aallya Ragi Vermicelli
  • 2 ltr water
  • 1tsp salt
  • 2tsp oil
  • 1tsp mustard
  • 50g blackgram
  • 1 onion
  • 2 green chilly
  • 2 curry leaves

Instructions

Soak 180g Aallya Ragi vermicelli for 3 minutes in 2 litres of plain water with enough salt. After 3 minutes, drain any surplus water. If you immerse it for more than 3 minutes, it will lose its natural texture. Then steam it for up to 5 minutes. Your Aallya Ragi Vermicelli is now ready to be used in your recipe. In a frying pan, heat the oil, sputter the mustard, and sauté the blackgram, onion, green chilies, curry leaves, and other ingredients until they are cooked through. Season with salt to taste. Then add the cooked Aallya Ragi Vermicelli and thoroughly stir for up to 5 minutes before serving hot.
